It’s the season of love, y’all! And while we fully support you showering your sweetheart with lots of love this time of year, we also encourage you to spread that love around a little bit.

Take some time out of your busy schedule to pamper yourself and give your skin the much-needed love it deserves. You can even make a night of it by planning an at-home spa date with your special someone. Here are just a few suggestions for how you can love on your skin this season and all year long:

Clean

First things first, you’ve got to wash your face. Take off all that makeup and dirt your skin has accumulated throughout the day by using a cleansing face wash. Dampen your face with warm water and take your time massaging the cleanser into your skin. This gentle kneading motion will help minimize puffiness and stimulate circulation in your skin. Finish your cleanse by rinsing your face and patting it dry.

Steam

Whether you decide to do a full-body steam or want to simply focus on your face, a good 10-minute steam can do wonders for your skin. The heat from the steam helps soften your skin so you can get rid of any impurities without causing inflammation. One of the easiest ways to makeshift your own steam room is to turn on the hot water in your shower, close the door and simply sit in the steam that follows. Be careful you don’t steam for too long though, as it can easily dehydrate you. Which leads us to our next tip…

Hydrate

You’ve heard us say it a million times and we’re going to say it again: staying hydrated is one of the best things you can do for your skin. Throughout your pampering experience, make sure you keep a glass of water nearby to stay hydrated. For your skin specifically, consider trying a rehydrating mask. This will help add moisture back to your skin and make it really glow.

Relax

Stress can really wreak havoc on your skin. So this season, try to slow down a bit. Take time to do some deep stretch yoga or meditate for a few minutes. During your spa day, carve our some time to take a nap and listen to some soothing spa music. Whatever you do to relax, be sure to incorporate it into your pampering. Not only will you skin look better, you’ll feel better all-around.
