At one point or another, you have probably asked yourself, “how can I lose unwanted fat quickly?” And while the answer depends on your current lifestyle, diet and body type, one of the options we recommend to our patients is CoolSculpting®.

What is CoolSculpting®?

CoolSculpting® technology safely delivers preciously controlled cooling to gently and effectively target the fat cells underneath the skin. The treated fat cells are crystallized (frozen) and then die. Over time, your body begins to naturally process the fat and eliminates the dead cells, resulting in a more sculpted you.

When will I see results?

You may start to see changes as quickly as three weeks after your CoolSculpting® treatment. The most dramatic results typically occur after two months. However, your body will continue to flush out fat cells and continue to do so for up to four to six months after treatment.

Is it safe?

The CoolSculpting® procedure is FDA-cleared for the flank (love handles), abdomen and thigh. With more than a million CoolSculpting® treatments performed worldwide, it’s proven to be a safe and effective treatment for non-surgical fat reduction.

During the procedure you may experience deep pulling, tugging, pinching, numbness or discomfort. Following the procedure, side effects include temporary numbness, redness, swelling, bruising, firmness, tingling, stinging and pain.

Is it for me?

You should not have the CoolSculpting® procedure if you suffer from cryoglobulinemia or paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria. The CoolSculpting® procedure is not a treatment for obesity. However, if you have issues with fat that are resistant to diet and exercise, CoolSculpting® is a safe, effective way to sculpt your body so you look and feel more confident in your own skin.

Our clinicians at Charleston Dermatology are CoolSculpting® certified and can walk you through the procedure to see if it’s right for you. Set up your FREE CoolSculpting® consultation with us today!
