Tattoo Removal Laser

What is Q-Switched Tattoo Removal?

Q-Switched Tattoo Removal is a laser treatment designed to eliminate unwanted tattoos safely and effectively. This innovative technology utilizes specialized lasers to target and break down tattoo ink particles without causing harm to the surrounding skin. Depending on the size, location, and color of your tattoo, the number of treatments necessary will vary. Our trained providers will evaluate the tattoo area in a consultation during your first visit and work with you to customize an appropriate treatment plan.

How Does it Work?

During a Q-Switched Tattoo Removal session, the laser emits short bursts of high-energy light pulses that are absorbed by the tattoo ink. This energy shatters the ink particles into tiny fragments, which are then naturally eliminated by the body’s immune system over time. As a result, the tattoo gradually fades, revealing clearer skin beneath.

Benefits of Q-Switched Tattoo Removal:

  • Safe and effective removal of unwanted tattoos
  • Minimal risk of scarring or damage to surrounding skin
  • Gradual fading of the tattoo for natural-looking results

Before and After

What to Expect During Treatment:

Before the procedure, your provider will assess your tattoo and discuss your treatment goals and expectations. Depending on the size, color, and location of the tattoo, multiple sessions (six to twelve) may be required to achieve optimal results.

During the treatment, you may experience a sensation similar to rubber band snaps as the laser pulses are delivered to the skin. While discomfort levels vary depending on individual pain tolerance, topical numbing cream or local anesthesia may be applied to enhance comfort during the procedure.

Recovery and Results:

Tattoos can be treated six to eight weeks apart depending on size and location. In between treatments, the treated skin may be tender, swollen, itchy, and could bleed and scab. You must be able to keep the treated skin out of the sun, covered, and moist with Vaseline or similar ointment while healing.
