Did you know November is National Healthy Skin Month? Take this time to reflect on your skincare routine and how you’re treating your body’s largest organ! Check out these helpful tips from us and our partners at AAD.

Wash your face.

Using a mild cleanser and lukewarm water, make sure that you’re washing your face twice daily. Even if you don’t regularly wear makeup, it’s important to eliminate the pollution from being out in the world.

Use an antiperspirant.

Deodorant is a cosmetic product used to mask your natural body odor. Prescription antiperspirant, however, temporarily blocks your sweat glands and is more effective.

Determine your skin type.

To create a skincare routine that’s tailored to you, you must first determine your skin type. We can help you determine whether your skin type is oily, dry, combination, normal or sensitive so that you can choose products that make the biggest impact.

Examine your skin.

You should perform regular self-checks to check for new or changing spots. You should also visit your dermatologist regularly to ensure that nothing goes overlooked.

Protect your skin.

It’s important it is to protect your skin! You know the drill: seek shade from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., wear protective clothing and use a broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or more.

Prevent blisters and corns.

Many people forget about the skin health of their feet! Prevent blisters, warts and corns by making sure shoes fit properly, wearing socks and keeping toenails trimmed.

Moisturize daily.

Moisturizing daily helps your skin retain its balance and prevent skin problems. Pro tip: apply lotion or cream while your skin is still damp from the shower to lock in moisture and get the best results.
