The Ellacor® System is a first-of-its-kind technology, minimally invasive treatment, that utilizes micro-coring to treat excess skin laxity in the mid and lower face, without surgery or the use of thermal energy. The Ellacor® System is an FDA cleared treatment for moderate and severe wrinkles in the mid to lower face in adults 22 years or older.
Micro-coring uses hollow needles to safely remove microscopic plugs of skin from the treatment area. Once these micro-cores are removed, the body’s natural healing response kicks in, causing the skin to realign while reducing the appearance of fine lines, deep wrinkles and skin laxity.
Before and After
In one Ellacor treatment session, as many as 12,000 micro-cores can be gently removed from your skin. Despite reaching through the full skin thickness, Ellacor’s needles are incredibly fine, less than 0.5 mm in diameter, ensuring minimal risk of scarring. Since these micro-cores are not incisions, Ellacor treatment doesn’t involve sutures or extensive post-care, resulting in a quicker recovery time. However, it’s normal to take several days after treatment before feeling fully comfortable resuming all regular activities.
It may take two to three Ellacor treatments before optimal results are achieved. The treatments can be performed within one month of each other. Because Ellacor is non-surgical, results from each treatment will take time to materialize. In some cases, it may take up to six months for maximum improvement to be reached.
Although not comparable to a surgical lift, the effect of micro-coring is an actual reduction of skin without the need for surgery or sutures.
