This month, we’ll be sharing all of the resources, tools and tips that you need to know for National Skin Cancer Awareness Month. By using the hashtag #CheckDetectProtect on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, you can learn how to protect yourself and loved ones! We also encourage you to use #CheckDetectProtect to contribute your own best practices when it comes to sun protection, self-exams and more. By following along with us, you can discover how easy it is to not only prevent but also to detect, the early signs of skin cancer.

By checking your body frequently, you become familiar with any changes or other developments on the skin. By having an ongoing and consistent dialogue with both your body and your dermatologist, you will be able to catch early signs of skin cancer. The Skin Cancer Foundation reported that more people are diagnosed with skin cancer each year in the U.S. than all other cancers combined, so we really can’t stress enough the importance of self-checks.

Empowering our community is one of our top priorities in the fight against skin cancer. It’s not just sunscreen, although that is a major part of it; in fact, the Skin Cancer Foundation has reported that the regular daily use of an SPF 15 or higher sunscreen reduces the risk of developing melanoma by 50 percent.

We will be covering all that you need to know through our social media channels and also our blog. Upcoming posts this month will include the following subjects:

  • What You Need to Know for Skin Cancer Awareness Month
  • How to Find the Right Sunscreen for Your Skin Type

Check back often and connect with us on social media. Together, we can make a difference in awareness and prevention!
