About Our Injectable Services
The difference between natural-looking results and an overfilled face isn’t the product—it’s the injector.
At Charleston Dermatology, injectables are administered by medical professionals who understand facial anatomy at a physician-practice level. Every treatment starts with a consultation about your goals, your anatomy, and what will (and won’t) get you there.
Treatment plans are built around your face, not a one-size-fits-all menu, and often combine approaches—a neuromodulator for expression lines, filler for volume—with a conservative, build-gradually philosophy. Subtle, natural results start with an honest consultation. Schedule yours and let our team build a plan that actually works for you.
Featured Services

Botox / Wrinkle Reduction
Botox softens the dynamic wrinkles created by repeated expression—frown lines, forehead lines, and crow’s feet—by relaxing the muscles beneath them. Treatments take about 15 minutes, results appear within 3 to 7 days, and last 3 to 4 months. It remains the most studied and most performed cosmetic treatment in the world.

Dermal Filler
Dermal fillers restore volume that faces lose with age—in the cheeks, lips, jawline, and the folds around the mouth—using smooth hyaluronic acid gels. Results are immediate, refinable, and reversible, lasting anywhere from 6 months to 2 years depending on the product and area.

Belotero®
Belotero® is a soft, highly adaptable hyaluronic acid filler designed for delicate areas and fine lines where thicker fillers can look lumpy—vertical lip lines, under-eye hollows, and etched-in creases. It integrates smoothly into thin skin for a result you can’t see, only notice.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will I look frozen or overdone?
Not with conservative technique, which is our default. Botox dosed correctly softens lines while preserving natural expression, and filler placed correctly restores what age took rather than adding what was never there. We’d rather have you return for a touch-up than walk out overfilled—you can always add, but you can’t easily subtract (though hyaluronic acid fillers are dissolvable if ever needed).
Do injectable treatments hurt?
Discomfort is brief and manageable. Botox injections feel like quick pinches and take minutes. Fillers contain lidocaine, and we use numbing cream for sensitive areas like the lips. Most patients return to their day immediately, with possible minor redness, swelling, or bruising for a few days.
How do I know which injectable I need?
That’s what the consultation is for. As a general rule: lines that appear when you make expressions call for Botox, while lines and hollows present at rest call for filler—and many patients benefit from both. Your provider will assess your face in motion and at rest, listen to what bothers you, and recommend only what serves your goal.
