Radiofrequency Microneedling

At Charleston Dermatology, we’re thrilled to introduce the Lutronic Genius® Radiofrequency Microneedling device, a revolutionary treatment that delivers remarkable skin rejuvenation results.

The Genius® Radiofrequency Microneedling device is the latest, non-invasive skin resurfacing treatment. This cutting-edge technology combines the precision of microneedles with the controlled delivery of radiofrequency energy, This innovative technology stimulates collagen production and promotes skin tightening, resulting in smoother, firmer and more youthful-looking skin.

How Does it Work?

During a Genius Radiofrequency Microneedling treatment, tiny needles create controlled micro-injuries in the skin’s surface. Simultaneously, radiofrequency energy is delivered deep into the dermis, stimulating collagen and elastin production. This dual-action approach triggers the body’s natural healing response, resulting in improved skin texture, tone and elasticity over time.

Benefits of Genius Radiofrequency Microneedling:

  • Reduces the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and acne scars
  • Tightens and lifts sagging skin
  • Improves skin texture and tone
  • Minimizes pores
  • Stimulates collagen and elastin production
  • Safe for all skin types and tones

Before and After

What to expect during treatment:

Before the procedure, your skincare specialist will apply a numbing cream to the treatment area to ensure your comfort during the session. The Genius device will then be gently applied to the skin, delivering precise microneedling and radiofrequency energy.

During the treatment, you may experience a warm sensation and mild discomfort, but the procedure is generally well-tolerated. Depending on the size and location of the treatment area, sessions typically last 60 minutes.

How Quickly Will I See Results?

The most noticeable results will appear after three months, but improvements can be seen as early as four weeks.

Recovery: Following the procedure, you may experience redness, swelling and mild discomfort similar to a sunburn. These side effects typically subside within a few days to a week.

Frequency: Patients will need two to three sessions performed a month apart to obtain the level of correction they desire.
