What is botox?

Botox is a brand of botulinum toxin that is often used to soften signs of aging. Botox can also be used to treat a medical condition called hyperhidrosis, also known as excessive sweating. Botox is approved by the FDA to treat dermatologic conditions such as lines and wrinkles between the eyebrows and on the forehead, crow’s feet, and excessive sweating to the underarms.

How do I know if I need Botox?

While no one needs Botox, you may find yourself noticing more lines and wrinkles on the upper part of your face when your face is at rest that you do not like the appearance of. When you notice these deep lines at rest and if they bother you, you may be a good candidate for Botox.

What can I expect when I come to get Botox?

If you decide that you may want to try Botox, your provider will discuss the procedure with you in detail. They will examine your areas of concern and formulate a plan including how much Botox and where to place the Botox to help you achieve your desired results. Botox is administered via several injections. We use the smallest needles possible to make sure you experience as little discomfort as possible. Give us a call to make an appointment with one of our providers if you would like to discuss Botox further!
