Aesthetic Services

Healthy, glowing skin doesn’t always require lasers or injections. Our aesthetic services — chemical peels and microneedling — renew skin from the surface and from within, improving tone, texture, and clarity with treatments that fit into a lunch break.

About Our Aesthetic Services

Consistent, well-chosen treatments beat occasional dramatic ones—that’s the philosophy behind our aesthetic menu.

At Charleston Dermatology, aesthetic treatments come with a dermatology practice’s depth behind them. Your skin is assessed medically first, so a peel or microneedling session works with your skin type and any conditions like acne, melasma, or rosacea, rather than aggravating them.

Treatment plans are built around your skin, not a one-size-fits-all package, and often pair in-office treatments with a simple, effective home routine that protects your investment. Brighter, smoother skin starts with the right plan. Schedule a consultation and let our team build one that actually works for you.

Featured Services

Chemical Peel

A chemical peel uses a carefully selected acid solution to exfoliate damaged surface layers, revealing fresher skin and stimulating renewal beneath. Depending on the peel depth chosen for your skin, treatments can improve dullness, uneven tone, sun spots, melasma, acne, and fine lines—from no-downtime “lunchtime” peels to deeper peels with several days of visible peeling and more dramatic results.

Microneedling

Microneedling creates thousands of controlled micro-channels in the skin, triggering the body’s repair response: new collagen and elastin. Over a series of sessions, texture smooths, pores appear smaller, acne scars soften, and skin firms—with just a day or so of redness. It’s one of the most reliable treatments for overall skin quality, safe for nearly all skin types.

Frequently Asked Questions

As a starting point: peels excel at surface concerns—tone, pigment, dullness, breakouts—while microneedling excels at texture—scarring, pores, fine lines, firmness. Many patients alternate the two for complementary results. Your provider will look at your skin and your goals and recommend the sequence that gets you there.

Light peels and standard microneedling involve a day or two of redness and mild flaking at most—many patients book them before a weekend and are presentable by Monday. Deeper peels involve several days of visible peeling. You’ll know exactly what to expect before we begin, and sun protection afterward is essential for protecting your results.

Both treatments work best as a series: typically 3 to 6 sessions spaced about a month apart, then maintenance a few times a year. You’ll see a glow after a single session, but the structural improvements—smoother texture, softer scars, firmer skin—build with consistency. We’ll map out a realistic series at your consultation.
