Known as the “Flowertown in the Pines,” Summerville is quickly becoming a popular place to live, work and play. In fact, it’s the reason why we chose to build our dermatology practice on Netherby Lane, just a hop, skip and a jump away from Summerville’s thriving community.
Filled with the delicious fragrance of its signature azalea bushes, Summerville is celebrated for both its abundant natural beauty and sweet southern charm. Home to the annual Flowertown Festival, South Carolina’s largest arts and crafts festival, as well as work-class sports venues and superior schools, Summerville is a town that simply refuses to be ignored.
Its wide range of affordable housing options and lower taxes — compared to the neighboring metropolis of Charleston — has transformed Summerville into one of the most desirable locations in the Lowcountry to live and work.
In fact, in the past 40 years, Summerville has grown from 3,000 residents to more than 46,000 residents, doubling its population in the 1980s alone. Needless to say, when it came time for us to decide where we were going to plant our roots, there was no question that Summerville was where we wanted to be.
